Instructional Program Manager one - 290d.1213 Department Lifelong Learning & Community Engagement Responsibilities Manage the development and implementation of instructional programs for the Liberal Studies unit. Assist in defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying out program duties. Manage all operations related to instructional delivery for adult credit programming. This includes identifying and training instructors, coaching, mentoring and evaluation, serving as liaison with other academic departments and two-year institutions, staffing all courses and program, curriculum and policy development. 50% - Coordinating Instructional Resources Ensure staffing of all courses in adult degree programs, credit-bearing certificate programs, and related non-credit programs (e.g., Chief Officer Program) as they are developed and implemented. Ensure that instructors are trained in relevant policies and procedures. Maintain effective relationships with other academic departments whose courses are offered and from whereinstructors might be identified. Oversee instructor evaluation process for all program courses. 20% - Instruction Teach 2 courses per year in the LLCE On-line Degree Programs 15% - Professional Development for LLCE Instructors Research best practices in professional development for instructors in on-line and hybrid adult degreeprograms. Assess needs, abilities, and skill levels of current LLCE instructors. Survey current and potential instructors for professional development needs and interests. Develop internal funding proposals for outside speakers and for peer training where appropriate. Develop and administer comprehensive professional development program for LLCE instructors. 15% - Program Assessment Recommend organizational strategies for academic review of each degree and certificate. Administer annual outcome assessment plans. Gather, compile and report data for program assessment. Liaison with Asst. Vice Chancellor for Curricular Affairs & St. Academic Achievement. Lead the work of instructor groups to develop common objectives for Liberal Studies courses. Qualifications 1. A Masters Degree and credentials to teach a major course in the BAS and BLS programs.2. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership background, preferably in an academic setting.3. Collaborative attitude and evidence of successfully working within a team structure.4. Expertise to connect with and communicate with a nontraditional adult student population. 5. Effective people skills, especially as related to conflict resolution. 6. Background with D2L, Blackboard, or other learning management system. Preferences 1. Successful background in student services or faculty development for an institution of higher education.2. Knowledge of adult learning theory and programs.3. Demonstrated effectiveness with selection, training and mentoring instructors.4. Background with PeopleSoft or similar student database program.
